A Take On ‘Yaan’
Yaan is a directorial debut of cinematographer Ravi K Chandran produced by Elred Kumar and Jayaraman. The film stars Jiiva and Tulasi Nair.
With a very impressive opening, the movie just makes the audience feel ‘blah’ within 10 minutes of the start with a very unrealistic scene that might have been created to showcase the director’s cinematography fieldwork over years. Getting into the story, it takes a pretty long time for an unemployed MBA graduate to realize the value of a job which is very much essential in today’s world and simultaneously face his Girlfriend Sreela’s father; Chandru leaves the country to find a job in Basilistan with the help of a travel agent. With a touch of drama sequence created just before the first half; what happens next is what finally excited the audience although the sequel is pretty much predictable.
A much-known storyline presented in a very mediocre manner is the major drawback of the movie. Colorful scenes with an action-packed thriller, fail to impress the audience as a whole. Harris Jayaraj has done a good job as usual but doesn’t deserve an appreciation for his background score to this movie in particular. However, excellent work by cinematographer Manush Nandan but at the same time it Looks like not much of an effort has been taken by editor Sreekar Prasad. Lead pair has been successful in impressing the audience by their role in the movie.
On a whole, If without any expectations, “Yaan” is just worth a watch to all the ‘ACTION DRAMA‘ lovers.
