Dr Ishan Capoor On Being A Pulmonologist & A Poet
Dr Ishan Capoor is a practising Pulmonologist at Narayana Hrudralaya, Bangalore and a Poet at heart who recently published a book titled Inhale:Exhale – From The Quarters Of Quarantine.
The country went through a pandemic two years ago, followed by lockdown and other health regimes. The time allowed us to peek within, comprehend life more closely and discover the new one in ourselves. Dr Ishan Capoor, a doctor and specialist in pulmonology, too had an incredible experience which turned him into a poet.
Covid-19 cases were increasing, and the demand for medical help was at its peak. The frontline worriers dedicated themselves to serving humanity. They worked tirelessly and away from their families to ensure the safety of those uninfected by the deadly virus. Dr Ishan Capoor is one of them who witnessed the game of destiny of life or death very closely.
During the time he spent in quarantine quarters, he let his emotions and thoughts ink the paper. And the poetry book Inhale Exhale – From the quarters of quarantine is an outcome. The poems are unique and heart-touching, and at the same time, they are simple, short, catchy and well-written. They convey the sentiments of a doctor, which makes them more attractive.
He shares his experiences during the pandemic’s challenging times and how hope and the human spirit helped heal and overcome these uncertainties. He further shares how he got into writing a poem and a few insights on the evolution of Inhale: Exhale, his debut poetry book, the unusual and exciting subject that the book revolves around and its art aesthetics.
